What is Rebalance?
Rebalance is a specialized program designed for young individuals who may have encountered notable challenges in their lives. Our initiative, guided by skilled coaches, is dedicated to cultivating essential life skills through engaging activities and RoundTables that utilize the Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) approach. Our efforts aim to address difficulties, like anxiety and general distress, fostering a sense of hope and resilience, particularly for participants who have experienced ongoing challenges.
Frequently Asked Questions

Rebalance is a specialized program for young individuals who may have faced significant challenges in their lives. The program uses trained coaches to deliver activities and RoundTables™ guided by Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®) methods (through the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development, TCU). TBRI® provides parents and professionals with tools to promote healing and well-being for children and adolescents from “hard places” through three core principles: CONNECTING — EMPOWERING — CORRECTING. RoundTable™ facilitation fosters self-discovery and personal transformation, as well as positive culture change in groups. These discussions are structured, two-way, and idea-facilitated rather than taught. Controlled activities are designed to activate the threat response system, allowing TBRI® tactics to teach self-regulation. Once participants are in a regulated state, discussions focus on character values that help them thrive in the community.

Children who have experienced trauma often have changes in their bodies, brains, behaviors, and belief systems. While traditional parenting strategies may work in typical situations, children with histories of harm need caregiving that addresses their whole child. TBRI® emphasizes that every child benefits from a nurturing, trusting relationship with a safe adult. TBRI® is used worldwide in homes, residential facilities, group homes, schools, camps, juvenile justice facilities, courts, with survivors of sex trafficking, in faith communities, with law enforcement, clinical practices, and more.

Every class includes a meal and RoundTable™ Discussion, providing a safe space for self-discovery, personal transformation, and corporate culture change. Each week introduces a new character value, such as Emotions, Listening, Boundaries, Influence, and more. RoundTables™ are not about teaching ideas—they are about facilitating discussion. Small groups (<10 participants) engage in 30–45 minutes of two-way communication, giving every participant a voice and an opportunity for a “win.” The RoundTable™ Methodology is a proven environment for meaningful change.
